In addition to being a retailer of beverage alcohol, NLC is also a manufacturer responsible for blending and bottling a number of high quality spirits from around the world. NLC blends and bottles rum from Jamaica and Guyana, brandy from France and vodka and gin from Canada. Blended and bottled rums include: Newfoundland Screech, Cabot Tower, Old Sam, London Dock and the new Ragged Rock. NLC also blends and bottles Iceberg Vodka, Booth’s Vodka, Booth’s Gin, Kingsway Whisky and Charenac Brandy.

A number of products bottled by NLC have received international recognition and awards. At the thirteenth annual International Rum Festival held in September 2002, Newfoundland Screech, Cabot Tower and Old Sam, each won silver in the regular rum category with Screech ranking as the highest silver placed rum.

Shiver Gin and Shiver Vodka

Shiver Gin is a London Dry Gin, with a cool, soothing, anise finish.

Shiver Vodka is a quadruple distilled, premium vodka, with an ultra-smooth finishing taste!

Screech Rum

Imported from Jamaica, Newfoundland Screech is one of the largest selling dark rums in Canada. Long before any liquor board was created, salt fish was shipped to the west Indies in exchange for rum. The fish became the national dish of Jamaicans and the rum became the traditional drink of Newfoundlanders. Old Sam Rum

The history of Old Sam dates back to 1797, when Howard Young and Company introduced it in England. Demerara Rums are shipped to Newfoundland from Guyana. The rum is aged for a minimum of two years in oak casks and blended with a mix of twelve year old rums. In February, 2001, the Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation launched Club Sam, an entertaining membership program to reward loyal Old Sam customers. Old Sam is exported to five other provinces.
